Friends Furever. For the last few years, the most shared ad is an animal video. In „friends furever“ there are unlikely animal pairings portrayed that happily play together: An orang utan is holding a dog in his arms, ducklings are snuggling up to a cat and an elephant baby and a sheep playfully romp around a meadow. Just at the end of that 1-minute clip it becomes apparent who stands behind that ad: Google´s android system. Shortly after that ad was released it went viral. It was shared millionfold across all platforms. It enjoys enormous popularity until today.
Emotion and trust. We all consume all kinds of video materials daily. We watch vlogs, films and animations dealing with diverse topics. We watch tutorials trying to teach ourselves various content. Videos are an essential part of our life and therefore it is easy to comprehend why videos are favoured over written content. The human brain is able to process visuals far quicker than written text. Moreover, filmic processed content speaks to our emotions and we get the impression to directly participate in what’s happening in the video.
Videos give us the opportunity to directly approach customers and to create awareness irrespectively where they are. Videos enable us to explain our product and services, share information and build up trust. Videos also encourage people to take action and come forward and ask for your service.
The numbers speak for themselves. Over 75% of marketers confirm that videos are real warrantors for success and that their overall significance is on the rise. 70% of B2B marketers insist that videos are the best medium to generate deals. Analysis back those numbers saying that over 80% of people who consumed certain video ads subsequently also bought the product or service. However, many small businesses still shy away from using videos in their marketing mix activities. High costs paired with a huge amount of work are suspected which is why more conservative forms of communication is still favoured.
YouTube changed the way we obtain information. Big platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or TikTok offer huge potential to get your message across. YouTube is – after Google- the second largest search engine with more than 2 Billion users per month. YouTube partly operates like a social network. That means companies have the opportunity to address Billions of potential new customers free of charge.
Every minute 400 hours of video materials are uploaded onto YouTube. The 18- 49-year olds are using classic mediums like tv less and less while their consumption of videos on YouTube quadrupled.
Good entertainment. So, if you want to reach that specific target group you should always consider video content. Particularly popular are those videos that offer good entertainment. Be creative and design your video in an entertaining manner. Try to wrap your message into a tantalizing story.
The right words. Find the right title for your videos and provide them with suitable keywords. In an attempt to arouse interest always add a clear and succinct description. In a final step ask your audience to share and comment.
If you haven’t done any videos so far NOW is the right time to consider doing them. They have tremendous potential for selling your products and services. If you are unsure how to do that ask for professional help. There are always people around that can help!
